WordPress powers a comfortable majority of the sites we build and maintain, and most of the questions that land in our inbox. It earned that position honestly: you can hand the admin panel to a client without a training week, the ecosystem has a plugin for nearly everything, and cheap shared hosting runs it well enough for most projects.
This hub gathers our WordPress guides. It grows as we restore more of our archive and publish new tutorials — the newest material always appears in Tutorials & Blog first.

Hosting WordPress well
Nine out of ten "WordPress is slow" complaints we investigate turn out to be hosting or image problems, not WordPress itself. Start with Slow Website: Upgrade Plan Or Change Hosting Company if your site is dragging, and with Best Cheap Web Hosting or Compare Web Hosting Plans if you're still choosing where to put a new site. Our first-hand hosting reviews cover the specific companies we've used.
WordPress or something else?
We like WordPress, but we don't think it's the answer to everything. Structured, multilingual content is often happier in Joomla; a five-page brochure site can launch faster on a bundled builder like the one we walk through in How To Build A Website With iPage Website Builder. The right tool is the one you'll still be comfortable maintaining a year from now.
